UPDATE: The Twirlers have given us some fantastic pictures of the competition in Norway.
Wales will be competing at the World Baton Twirling Championships in Lillehammer, Norway in March of this year (2018). A number of the twirlers are from Carmarthenshire.
Their mammoth task is to raise £1,400 each in order to fund the trip. Four girls from Llanelli and Carmarthen have made an appeal for help from local businesses.
Baton twirling was founded in Western Europe and Asia. It has developed throughout the world with 25 countries actively competing. This is the first time a Welsh team has competed at the World Championships.
Local businesses have an opportunity to help the girls by sponsoring them. In return the team will promote your business on their website. Juliet Phillips-James of Gomer Williams Solicitors in Llanelli was the first business to come forward and donated £100 to the fund for the four girls.
If you would like to donate you can contact editor@llanellionline.news and we will put you in touch with the team’s management.
