Keep Tyisha Tidy litter pick 24-11-17 from Llanelli Online on Vimeo.
Nia Griffith MP was out picking litter in the Tyisha ward of Llanelli last Friday with local Labour councillors Suzy Curry and Andre McPherson.
The Tyisha Positive Action Group was working in partnership with Keep Wales Tidy to have ‘a real clean up’ and ‘make sure there isn’t any litter around’, according to Nia Griffith. The MP encouraged people in Llanelli to ‘take a real pride in our town’.
Cllr Suzy Curry described the litter pick as ‘community action in action’, and her fellow Tyisha councillor Andre McPherson invited residents to ‘become part of the community’ by getting involved. He added that it was ‘only through us working together can we make a better Tyisha’.
The Tyisha Positive Action Group is inviting people to their next litter pick, which will take place at 10am on Wednesday 6th December. The group will be meeting outside the ‘5 Tys’ on Station Road.
Dan Snaith, Carmarthenshire Project Officer for Keep Wales Tidy, said: ‘It’s great to see people out doing this in their local community. It does send obviously a positive message to others, and hopefully another message to the ones who drop the litter in the first place.’
