ON Friday (Jun 5) Ty Aberdafen celebrated all the Superheroes at the unit with a superhero day.
Staff and service users dressed up as different characters and had a day full of enjoyment.
It started with Superhero themed activities, guess the theme tune, pictures and an interactive quiz followed by a delicious BBQ cooked by their chef John.
Funded by British Gas, in the afternoon there was a surprise for all to say thank you for everyone’s hard work during covid19 and being so understanding.
A local ice cream van visited the unit playing music and everyone was so thrilled and excited.
Due to social distancing each person went out individually to pick their treat and took it back inside to tuck in.
A spokesperson for the unit said:
“Staff and residents want to say a massive thank you to Bob from British Gas for thinking of us and donating the money so we could have this treat for everyone.
“It was wonderful to see service users excited and the expressions on their faces.
“It was a day filled with joy and was a pleasure for the staff team to be a part of. Also all the staff gave a donation for dressing up and raised £40 which we will add to half marathon money raised to help towards physio equipment.”
