When you talk about transforming lives look no further than the local branch of the Salvation Army. The work of the organisation is inspiring. Their mission is simple. Called to be disciples of Jesus Christ, The Salvation Army United Kingdom Territory with the Republic of Ireland exists to save souls, grow saints and serve suffering humanity.
Almost every penny donated goes to the everyday work of the Salvation Army. No high salaries, no CEO’s on bonuses. The main work of the Salvation Army is reuniting people. Add to that a Christian faith and numerous soup kitchens and centres, which provide for those who may find themselves homeless or alone at this time of year.
It was a real pleasure to visit the Llanelli headquarters at the Citadel just off Swansea Road in Llanelli. We caught up with Major Denise Cooper who gave us an insight into what happens at the Citadel on Christmas Day.
