THIS is a public notice from Hywel Dda University Health Board giving local residents who use the Community Phlebotomy Clinic at the Antioch Centre, Llanelli or Meddygfa Tywyn Bach, Burry Port advance notice that the telephone number for booking an appointment is changing.
As from Monday 23rd April the new number for making an appointment will be 0300 3039642 between the hours of 09:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday.
This pilot scheme, to help reduce pressures on Prince Phillip Hospital, has proven to be a huge success and patients are reminded that the service will continue running for them if they are in the eligible area. If patients call the old number after the 23rd April an answer phone message will direct them to the new number until the end of May at which point it will close down.
Patients who use the service are asked to have their blood test request form ready when they call to book their appointment and to bring it along with them on the day.
Commenting on the scheme Andrea Stiens, Head of Pathology Service says “we are delighted that this pilot scheme has been so successful and we continue to urge patients to take advantage of this service if they live in the eligible area to help ease pressures in Prince Philip Hospital. Telephone lines can be very busy Monday and Tuesday so again to help reduce waiting times if possible please ring the contact centre Wednesday to Friday.”
