The Semi Final of the West Wales Intermediate Cup took place at Stebonheath on Wednesday (Mar 22). The game kicked of at 7.30 pm under floodlights. In a game where Pwll had few chances of scoring they gave a plucky performance but the visitors from Team Swansea were just too much.
Team Swansea took an early lead and continued to apply pressure on the Pwll team throughout the first half. At around 20 minutes into game Team Swansea broke again in midfield with one of their players beating four Pwll defenders to get the second goal. The score was 2-0 at half time. The second half was a brilliant display of football from Team Swansea as they turned on the style and the pace and outshone a hard working Pwll. The scoreline could have been greater had it not been for some tremendous saves from the Pwll keeper. The Pwll team acquitted themselves well in front of a number of supporters from various Carmarthenshire League clubs. They got a rousing applause from the Llanelli crowd as they left the field.
