EIGHT members of the Llanelli Indoor Bowls Club, which includes a reserve, won the Welsh Indoor Bowling Association’s Open Fours and the Over 60’s Fours Tournaments.
The successful quartets have now been representing Wales in the British Isles Indoor Bowling Championships which were held in Paisley, Scotland from 11th to the 14th March 2018.
They competed against the National Champions of England, Ireland, Scotland and the Channel Islands to become British Isles Champions.
The Open Fours Team included :- R Burden, M Howells, D Williams & M Partridge.
They were unfortunate and lost in the preliminary round against the Channel Islands. Score of 16 to 22.
The Over 60’s Fours Team included P Jones, H Johns, R Burden and C Davies. The reserve was M Roberts.
The Team went on to beat Scotland 28 to 14 in the final.
The club say it has been a wonderful experience and achievement for all the players involved and a proud moment for the Club.
The winners were presented the Brian Davies Trophy by Welsh President Mr Mostyn Lewis.
