Spin to get cigarettes costs Llanelli man £811

A 21-year-old Llanelli man has been ordered to pay a fines and costs totalling £811 for breaking restrictions during the emergency period.

The court heard that on 14.04.2020 at Cwmbach Road, Llanelli, without reasonable excuse, during the emergency period, Jacob Smith of 44 Graig Avenue Llanelli left or remained away from the place where he was living, in that he was the passenger in a Recovery Truck and had been out for a spin and to get cigarettes and did not reside with the driver of the vehicle. Contrary to regulations 8(1) and 12(1)(b) & (4) of the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020. Smith was fined £660 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £66.00 and costs of £85.00.
