Southampton’s Scott joins Llanelli Online

SOUTHAMPTON University student Scott Morgan from Llanelli has joined Llanelli Online for some hands on training.

Scott who hails from Stradey in Llanelli is in his second year degree course in journalism at Southampton Solent University.

Scott has already been thrown in at the deep end and has begun work on the biggest political story in the area for some time, the apparent meltdown of Plaid Cymru in Llanelli and the potential split in the party with Cardiff Central AM Neil McEvoy visiting the town tomorrow evening, Wednesday (Mar 28).

Scott will be working alongside our experienced reporter Iwan Lewis.

Speaking about his experience on the first day Scott said: “It has been a great introduction to what the industry is going to be like. I am supportive of local reporting. It is important to focus on the local community. There is a chronic lack of reporting at a local level specifically on local democracy and a lot of news slips through the cracks. I am looking forward to getting the experience in journalism but also getting to know the community by getting out and about.”

Scott’s specific area of interest is in politics.

If you see Scott out and about please say hello and remember to let him know about all your news and events.

You can email Scott on scottmorgan@llanellionline.news
