SOUTH Wales Police is currently responding to an on-going incident in St Mary Street.
At around 3.15pm today officers received information that threats had been made to people in a city centre hotel.
Staff and a number of residents have now safely left the premises with no reports of any injuries.
A police cordon is in place and a number of buildings have been evacuated as a precaution.

A cordon which was in place for several hours following an incident in Cardiff City centre this afternoon, has now been lifted.
At approximately 3.15pm South Wales Police received a report of an ongoing incident at a hotel on St Mary’s Street.
Staff and residents, as well as occupants of neighbouring buildings, were evacuated as a precaution. No-one was injured.
The public are thanked for their cooperation and assistance.
Officers have now been stood down from the scene following a thorough search of the area, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the source of the report to police.
