THE Scarlets passed the strength-in-depth test tonight as they recorded a scrappy win in their Pro14 match against Benetton Treviso.
With 12 players on international duty, along with injuries, the Welsh side had to test their squad depth against a near full strength Italian side.
Despite this, Wayne Pivac’s men managed to run out 20 – 8 winners from the game at Parc Y Scarlets, scoring two tries through Man of the match Dan Jones and captain Scott Williams, with 10 points from the boot of Jones.
The visitors points came from outside-half Ian McKinley, an individual effort for a try and a penalty.
The Scarlets now turn their attention to the Anglo Welsh Cup, where they will welcome Exeter Chiefs to Llanelli on Sunday (Nov 12) in round 1.
