Fly-half Rhys Priestland kicked six penalties out of seven as Bath defeated the Scarlets in the second round of the European Champions Cup at Parc Y Scarlets.
With horrendous weather conditions and Wales coach Warren Gatland watching in the crowd, the former Scarlet impressed with a man of the match display in front of a lively Welsh crowd.
Wing Steff Evans continued his fine form scoring the only try of the match from a superb attacking play and Rhys Patchell with eight points from the boot, however it was the forward battle and territory dominance that were key.
It was Bath who tactically outsmarted the league champions with an efficient and composed performance, all their points came from welsh-man Priestland.
The result is a big blow for Wayne Pivac’s side, with two defeats in their opening two games, losing narrowly to Toulon just five days prior.
Bath go top of Pool 5, while second-placed Toulon travel to Benetton Treviso on Saturday, who will be looking for a maximum five points.
The Scarlets now return to the Guinness Pro14, where they will welcome Cardiff Blues to Llanelli on Saturday, 28 October, kick off is at 19:35pm.
