Sunday’s are for chilling out and tucking that Sunday lunch away with a cheeky beer or glass of wine followed by a late evening tipple. At this time of year a nice G & T or a sherry. But NO! Some prefer to don a Santa suit and run through Llanelli for a couple of miles in order to raise some cash for charity.
That’s what a large number of adults, children and dogs did today (10 Dec) as part of the annual Santa Dash, raising funds for Little Princess Trust.
The event began with the dozens of people meeting in the Sunken Gardens, where the whistle was blown and the run started.
The five kilometre run went past the Leisure Centre, over the bridge, around Sandy Water Park and finished at the North Dock cafe.
Despite the cold weather all participants stuck it out until the end all in aid of a great cause. Wa it worth it? Of course. They even managed to sneak in some lovely food at the Grill Restaurant on Queen Victoria Road.
Speaking to Llanelli Online, the organiser of the event Clare Doyle said: ”I’d like to thank everyone again, it was been another great turnout.
We have raised money for Little Princess Trust today for children with cancer who need wigs. Thanks to everyone who has helped out with the charity.”
