THE RSPCA has launched an appeal after 6 swans were found dead at Sandy Water Park in Llanelli having been shot and decapitated.
The bodies were found on two separate occasions over the past two weeks, with their heads and necks close by.
The RSPCA said: “Shocking and so sad, six swans have been found dead at Sandy Water Park, Llanelli.”
Posting about the incident on their Facebook page the RSPCA said: “To try and find out what happened – one of the dead swans was sent away for a post mortem examination, which found that the swan had been shot in the head and body by a BB gun and an airgun.
“Anyone who has any information about this incident should contact the RSPCA’s cruelty line, in complete confidence, on 0300 1234 999.”
