THE famous Cairngorm reindeer will return to Llanelli town centre on Saturday, 2nd December for the town’s annual parade.
This year’s parade which is jointly funded by Ymlaen Llanelli and Llanelli Town Council will start from the Ffwrnes Theatre at 12pm.
The parade route takes in Park Street, Mincing Lane, Bridge Street, Vaughan Street and Stepney Street before heading on to Spring Gardens. Live music and competitions will be provided at the Gardens by Radio Carmarthenshire. There will also be fairground rides for children.
The reindeer will tow Santa on his sleigh through town and will be preceded by local bands and mascots including Cyril the Swan. Also this year staff from town centre gym, Snap Fitness, will pull Cinderella through town in her carriage.
Ymlaen Llanelli is running a competition for BID levy paying businesses and offering four lucky children the chance to win a ride in either the sleigh with Santa or the carriage with Cinderella for the duration of the parade.
Chair of Ymlaen Llanelli, Lesley Richards said:
“Everyone in town is really looking forward to this event. It has been a success in previous years and we want to build on that to make it bigger and better every year. It brings lots of families into town which is great for businesses especially as it coincides with Small Business Saturday. The £1 all day Saturday parking in the multi storey will help too.”

“The Town Council is pleased to support this year’s Reindeer Parade, an event that continues to be well attended and brings the crowds back to the town centre following on from the very successful Christmas Carnival.”
