An estimated two thousand plus people turned up to watch the Llanelli Reindeer Parade today, Saturday (Dec 4) on a cold but sunny winter’s day.
The Reverend Eldon Phillips who doubles as the Town Crier got proceedings off to a start from outside Theatr Ffwrness telling the crowds that the parade had been absent for two years and it had been missed.
The Royal British Legion band lined up alongside the Swansea City Pipe Band to provide musical entertainment for the crowds that lined the route.
There were plenty of familiar Disney and Marvel characters in the parade along with civic dignitaries, a fairytale carriage, twirlers and of course the man in red Father Christmas.
The parade made its way along Stepney Street before turning right towards the St. Elli Parish Church and the library. From there the crowds lined both sides of Vaughan street to catch a glimpse of Santa on his sleigh being pulled by reindeer.
The parade joined Stepney Street once more before finishing at the sunken gardens where there were fun fair rides for children.
This was another successful event for Ymlaen Llanelli in conjunction with Carmarthenshire County Council, Llanelli Town Council and Llanelli Rural Council, which brought large numbers of people into the town centre.
