Red light failure costs Ammanford motorist £712

FAILING to comply with a red light cost an Ammanford motorist £712 when he appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court .

The court heard that on the 25th of October 2019 Kris Evans of Margaret Street Ammanford failed to comply with the indication given by a traffic sign specified as subject to obligatory endorsement in Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988, namely a red light traffic signal, lawfully placed on or near a road, other than a motorway, namely A27 Contrary to section 36(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1988, the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

Evans pleaded not guilty to the offence.

Finding him guilty the court fined Evans £60 and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £620
