Approximately 10:30 first reports of incident in town centre.
Bystanders contacted Llanelli Online to report a number of police and emergency services vehicles in the town centre and a road closure in operation. These are unconfirmed reports. We have a reporter on the way to the area. We will bring you more information as it comes in. We have been informed that a fire has broken out and that part of the town has been hit by a power cut. Again, these are unconfirmed reports.
11:15: Our reporter is at the scene and we will update you as soon as we receive his report.
11:20: We are told that a sub station has caught fire. Two fire engines, one ambulance and police in attendance. Old Castle Road is closed.
11:30: Llanelli Online reporter Iwan Lewis reports two fire engines, one ambulance and at least six police cars. It is understood that at least one person has been taken into custody.
11:37: The fire appears to have taken hold at a small generator at the base of the building on the Old Castle Road side of the Ty Elwyn.
