PLANNING for this years Pontarddulais and Hendy Carnival is well underway with 11 members of the committee meeting to discuss plans for the event.
The carnival will take place on Saturday (Jun 23) at Coed Bach Park.
This year will be the 50th parade and there will be lots of celebrations and activities on the field for family and friends.
The carnival Parade will leave Hendy at 2pm and will arrive at Coed Bach Park at 3pm
Entertaining the crowds will be local community groups and acts from Gorseinon and Lough0r.
The national RAF Parachute display team will perform a sky dive routine into the centre of the field.
Radio Tir will be on the field along with four groups including The Pontarddulais Town Band, Star Dance Academy Pontarddulais, Swansea Falcons Swansea and West Street Gymnastics from Gorseinon.
Some activities available will include archery, lazerclay pigeon shooting and zorbing football.
The local Classic Car Club and Swansea Bus Museum will also have a display of their vintage vehicles on the field along with a wide range of other activities and stalls for people to view.
Lougher group Bus Pass Cowboys will be performing live music.
The parade is also looking for a Carnival Queen. The closing date to enter is May 28th.
