Nominations open for Mudiad Meithrin Awards Ceremony

Nominations open for Mudiad Meithrin Awards Ceremony

THE nominations window for Mudiad Meithrin’s annual awards ceremony to celebrate and recognise all the excellent work at its provisions all over Wales will open on St David’s Day, 1 March.

Mudiad Meithrin is looking for nominations of staff and volunteers in Cylchoedd Meithrin, Cylchoedd Ti a Fi and Day Nurseries for awards in 11 categories.

This year we will create a new category, Parent pack. We already know that many settings create a Parent pack to provide support and information for parents and we aim to be able to use the top three in this category as an example of good practice for all our provisions.

Leanne Marsh, Head of Services Development for Mudiad Meithrin said:

“The awards ceremony is an opportunity for Mudiad Meithrin to recognise and thank the staff and volunteers at grassroots level. This gives everyone an opportunity to nominate an early years setting – be it a Cylch Meithrin, a Cylch Ti a Fi or a day nursery – for an award in one of 11 categories.”

All the details are available on-line – – with an invitation for anyone to nominate a cylch or day nursery in a number of fields. The nominations window will close at midnight on 1 May.

Leanne added:

All you have to do is state 3 reasons why you wish to nominate. You can also add up to 3 images to support your nomination.”

Iola Jones, Head of Partnerships and Communucations for Mudiad Meithrin said:

“Everyone has until midnight on Wednesday night 1st May to nominate. We hope that many will see this as an opportunity for a Welsh-medium early years setting in their area to be recognised for its work and we look forward to receiving a host of nominations!”

Following the success of the ceremony over the last three years this year’s awards ceremony will be held at Theatr y Werin, Aberystwyth on Saturday, October 19 this year.

Before then the judging panel will meet at the end of May with a short-list for all 11 categories being announced at the end of June.
