We all know January is the most depressing month of the year so Llanelli town centre is planning a ‘New Year, New You’ event at the Library on Saturday, 13th January.
The free event is designed to help people to have a more positive outlook on the new year and will include yoga, fitness, nails, makeovers, cookery demonstrations and even belly dancers. Local residents are being encouraged to come along to try out new things that might make them feel happier and healthier in 2018.
The event which is being supported by Ymlaen Llanelli, Carmarthenshire Libraries. Llanelli Market, Communities First, Prime Cymru and Llanelli Town Council will be officially opened by the Mayor and will run from 10am to 3pm in the library.
A number of local businesses will be taking part offering help and advice. There will also be competitions with prizes up for grabs including a month’s free membership for town centre gym Snap Fitness who will be at the event.
Mark Jewell, Regional Library Manager said, “We are very excited about this event. We all feel a little bit depressed in January and I hope the day gives people a reason to smile. Whether it’s having their first makeover or joining the library for the first time, there will be plenty of things on offer to choose from, hopefully something for everyone.”
Ymlaen Llanelli Chair, Lesley Richards commented, “An event like this will bring more people into town in the normally quiet month of January. I am happy to see businesses taking part and hope that anyone who attends the event stays in town to see what Llanelli has to offer.”
