A 30-year-old man from Birmingham has had to pay out over £800 after an appearance at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court for motoring offences.
Mr Costel Ionut Neagu of Belchers Lane, Bordesley Green, Birmingham appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on the 14th of July for exceeding the speed limit. The court heard that on 21/01/2022 Neagu drove a motor vehicle, on the A476 at Gorslas, at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour Contrary to section 81(1) and 89(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988. The speed recorded by means of Gatsometer was 36 miles per hour.The speed limit was signified by street lighting placed at
less than 200 yard intervals.
The offence was withdrawn.
The court also heard that on 24/02/2022 at Safety Camera Unit,Pontypridd, having been required by
or on behalf of the Chief Officer of Police for Dyfed-Powys Police, Neagu failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence Contrary to section 172(3) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
The case was proved through a Single Justice Procedure
Neagu was fined £660.00 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £66.00 and costs of £90. His driving record was endorsed with 6 points.
