Llanelli Online attended a masterclass in live streaming at the Centre for Community Journalism at Cardiff University on Friday (Apr 28). The training was led by Peter Stewart the author of the World’s first book on live streaming, ‘Up Your Periscope’.
Peter who works for the BBC gave a great lecture on live streaming including demonstrations of some of the new technology and gadgets journalists are now using in their daily work. The session was also live streamed via the @C4CJ Twitter account and here It can also be followed at #Cjlivestream
The event was organised by Matt Abbott of the C4CJ. During the day journalists from across Wales shared their thoughts, ideas and experiences, which suggested that more and more are turning to reporting the news using hand held devices such as mobile phones and GoPro cameras.
Cardiff’s Centre for Community Journalism provides networking, information and training for community journalists.
Building on expertise and research from the leading school of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, they explore sustainable models for community news and sharing the best practice from this emerging sector, which includes Llanelli Online.
