A MAN has been jailed after urinating on the wall of a dental surgery and breaching a community protection notice.

Dyfed-Powys Police officers were called to Brynteg Terrace in Ammanford on Wednesday, June 24, where John David James was urinating in public.

The 67-year-old was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence, and three breaches of his community protection notice.

PC Stephen Morris said: “James is a persistent offender in the Ammanford area, and as a result of previous behaviour had been made the subject of a community protection notice.

“There were three orders under this notice – not to be drunk in a public place in Llandybie, not to be involved in any behaviour that includes abusive, insulting or threatening words towards others, and not to be within five metres of Llandybie Parish Church unless he is passing.

“He was seen sitting outside the church on May 22, breaching point three, and on two occasions – on May 24 and June 14 – he has been abusive towards a member of the public, causing them to feel threatened, breaching point two.

“On June 24, not only was he seen urinating in public, but he was aggressive towards the witness, making her feel very uncomfortable.

“Thanks to the proactive approach taken between the Ammanford Neighbourhood Policing Team and response team, we secured four charges against James that day.”

He admitted the public order offence and three breaches of his community protection notice at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court, and was sentenced to eight weeks in prison.
