Llanelli Online has been operating on a voluntary basis, privately funded since it started. In that time we have reported on some of the most important issues facing the town and people of Llanelli when others feared to. We have been called a hyperlocal beacon by the Centre for Community Journalism at Cardiff University.
Bay TV’s Peter Curtis told the Welsh Assembly that Llanelli Online was the future of journalism.
We are working closely with Y Lle and aim to launch a community radio station for Llanelli, which will again, focus on local issues as well as providing a platform for local musicians and businesses.
We are aiming to launch an online TV channel, which will also provide a platform for local people and especially promote children’s programmes through the medium of Welsh.
Llanelli Online has launched a crowdfunding page. With your help we will establish and maintain a solid base so that Llanelli’s voice is heard.
