ASBRI Planning Ltd has been commissioned by Carmarthenshire County Council to undertake pre-application consultation in respect of the proposed development on land at North Dock, Llanelli.
The land is on the site of the former Pontrilas Works, part of Llanelli’s past industrial landscape. It was constructed in the 1960’s and contained a large amount of asbestons within its structure.
The factory which sits on the edge of the Millennium Coastal Park has become an eyesore and in recent months children have broken into the site and vandalised the building.
Specialist contractor Cuddy Group Ltd took over the site from Carmarthenshire County Council in December 2017.
At the time Cllr Emlyn Dole, Leader of the council and executive board member for regeneration, said: “This is prime development land, so we’re pleased to be able to take this action to remove what is currently a blight on the landscape.”
Carmarthenshire County Council is intending to apply to Carmarthenshire County Council for planning permission, for the following development;
Outline application for the construction of a residential development of up to 210 units with associated landscaping and infrastructure works.
Prior to formal submission to the Local Planning Authority and in accordance with the requirements set out in Part 1A of the Town & Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) Order 2012, the proposal will be subject to pre-application consultation.
All relevant drawings, reports and supplementary supporting documents are made available for inspection and review online. Computer facilities to view the application online are available to view at Llanelli Library, Vaughan St, Llanelli, SA15 3AS.
