Llanelli Talking Newspaper has been going for many years. It provides an essential service for blind and partially sighted people. Things have changed over the years as the production has moved from tapes to CD’s and online. It still follows the same format of local news, an interviews, birthdays and anniversaries announcements and the thoughts of the local clergy.
I became involved with the talking newspaper in 2014 and I have not looked back. It is a great team of volunteers. Nobody gets paid a penny. This week I interviewed Andrew Windsor who himself is partially sighted and works in developing and testing websites to make them user friendly for people with disabilities.
