Llanelli ‘Singathon’ raises over £1,000 for Tenovus Cancer Care

Tenovus Cancer Care would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all those who took part, volunteered, donated or came to watch the annual ‘Singathon’ in the St Elli Shopping Centre, helping them to raise over £1,000 for a second year in a row.

Saturday shoppers were entertained by local talents including Llanelli Community Wind Band, Kidwelly Festival Choir, Côr Curiad, Carmarthen Ukulele’s, Creaky Bottom Boys, Silver Swing, The Traveling Mumblers and Jack Dodds Band.

The ever popular Tenovus Cancer Care Llanelli and Carmarthen Sing With Us Choirs, made up of cancer patients, survivors and their families, were also in attendance, performing popular songs popular songs from the 1960s to the 2010s.

Emily Wells, Community Fundraiser for Tenovus Cancer Care said “For the second year in a row the people of Llanelli have supported our Singathon and really welcomed us. I’d like to say a big thank you to Llanelli for helping us to raise much needed funds, which will help us to support cancer patients in the area.’’

The Town Mayor Councillor Jeff Edmunds also attended the Singathon, and introduced the Llanelli Sing With Us Choir performance.
