Llanelli man sentenced to 49 months imprisonment for domestic abuse

Dyfed-Powys Police has welcomed a sentence issued to an offender at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday January 3rd 2018.

Jason Delme Lee was sentenced to a total of 49 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to S20 assault – Wounding, Breach of a restraining Order, Criminal Damage, Aggravated vehicle taking, Disqualified Driving, Driving Without Insurance and Fail to provide a specimen of breath,

The successful investigation by the Llanelli Joint Investigation Unit was launched after a sustained attack by Lee on a former partner at Llanelli in September of last year.

Detective Inspector Gareth Roberts said “I am pleased to see justice served for the victim with the sentencing of Jason Delme Lee.

The evidence obtained and support of the victim meant that we had a strong case which resulted in a guilty plea. What happened to the victim was truly frightening, and the guilty plea removed the need for her to relive the incident at Court. This is a firm message to domestic abuse perpetrators that your actions will not be tolerated within our communities and you will be responsible for the consequences of your actions.

I hope this sentence gives his victim some peace of mind and encourages people who are victims of domestic abuse to get in touch, and have the confidence that we are committed to deploying specialist resources to fully support vulnerable victims and ensure the effective and efficient investigation of such crimes.”
