Lead thieves target church hall used as food-bank

A church hall in Llanelli has fallen victim to lead thieves.

The hall in Dafen, which is used for community events including a food-bank was damaged sometime this week.

In a post on the Bro Lliedi Facebook page a statement read: “Sadly we have been the victim of yet another lead theft. A fair amount of damage has been done to Dafen church hall and lead has been taken.

“Not only does this mean that money that we had hoped to use to support our work in the community will now need to be spent on repairs. It also means that various community groups that use this hall may be disrupted whilst repair work takes place.

“Please could people be vigilant as they walk around the area and report anything suspicious that they might see.

“We also ask people to pray for those who have done this, that they might see the error of their ways and if they are stealing lead due to a severe need, that they may get the help and support that they need.”
