A 22-year-old man from Llanelli has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for the murder of 19-year-old Katrina Evemy.
Dylan Harries of Panteg, Felinfoel was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court following a trial in which jurors heard the details of a barbaric attack on the young mother at her home in Graig Avenue, Llanelli.
Following the sentence a spokesperson for Katrina’s family said: “On Thursday 13th of April Dylan Harries attended the home address of Katrina Evemy with murderous intent. He inflicted terrible injuries upon Katrina and she later died on the 19th of April at Morriston Hospital.
“Mrs Justice Whipple handed down a sentence of 27 years and life impisonment for Dylan Haries today, which goes some way t providing justice for the family of Katrina. I would like to thank the investigation team of Dyfed-Powys Police, the Crown Prosecution Service but most of all the family of Katrina who stand behind me today for acting with such dignity throughout the investigation and subsequent trial.”
