John Owen-Jones to release new single

PHANTOM and Les Misrables West End star John Owen-Jones is releasing a new single in the Spring of 2019.

Titled ‘Evermore’ this is taken from his new album ‘Spotlight’ also released in Spring 2019. John has announced tour dates for October 2018 in Wales.

John says: “I’ve travelled around the world to perform in concert but it’s always really special coming home to sing in Wales. If it’s as much fun as my last Welsh tour, then myself, my band and the audience will have a great time.”

John is currently recording his fifth album which will be released in Spring 2019. The album, called ‘Spotlight’ will feature John’s unique take on tracks from musicals and more, with music performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of John’s long time musical collaborator, John Quirk. Fans can be part of being involved more in the recording of this album via a crowdfunding campaign on John’s Pledge Music web page.

John was featured in The Stage newspaper’s Top 10 West End musical theatre performers list, compiled by writer and theatre critic Mark Shenton. Recently John was the Special Guest for Katherine Jenkins on her summer tour.  He will be returning to Tokyo to play the Phantom in Ken Hill’s Phantom of the Opera, before doing further solo shows in Japan.

John Owen-Jones has also played the role of ‘The Phantom’ in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ nearly 2000 times – more than any other actor in the history of the West End production.

John has released four albums, ’Bring Him Home’ in 2016, ‘Rise’ in 2015, ‘Unmasked’ in 2012 and ‘John Owen-Jones’ in 2009

‘John Owen-Jones offered a different style of singing and his closing number in the second half, Bring Him Home, received a standing ovation.’  Haywards Heath review with Katherine Jenkins July 2018.
