Home Bargains goes quiet for autism

DISCOUNT retailer Home Bargains has announced that it is set to embrace a quiet hour to create a calmer environment for shoppers with autism.

Autism Hour in 2018 saw 11,768 UK businesses host over 30,000 Autism Hours across the week of 6-13 October. It represented precious minutes where store lights were dimmed, noise reduced and staff and the public were informed about autism.

Now Home Bargains will launch the quiet hour across all of its 500 stores. The quiet shopping hour will take place every Saturday, between 9am to 10am

The initiative was created in conjunction with The National Autistic Society, the UK’s leading charity for autistic people, which has advised on creating the ideal environment for shoppers with autism.
