Great community support for KAMPS

Great community support for KAMPS

KIDWELLY and Mynyddygarreg Panto Society (KAMPS) are planning to stage a Panto in early 2019. It will be a reintroduction of a great tradition in both Kidwelly and Mynyddygarreg.

The group had a stand at the Co-op store in Kidwelly on Friday and Saturday (Feb 23,24).

Throughout the two days volunteers and members of the committee met and chatted with shoppers to let them know the plans. Speaking to Llanelli Online Chair of KAMPS Emma Britton said; “The enthusiasm of the customers of the Co-op for the Pantomime was fantastic and we had many offers of help from performers, writers and back stage crew. I can’t wait for us to begin rehearsals for the Panto scheduled for early 2019.”

Local County Councillor Jeanette Gilasbey also volunteered on the stand. She told Llanelli Online; “I am always proud of the people of Kidwelly and Mynyddygarreg and today was no different. It is so pleasing to see the community come together for an event like this.”

As well as letting people know what is planned and seeking volunteers the Co-op also helped KAMPS run a raffle on both days with great prizes provided by local businesses. Ann Gilley Member Pioneer for the Co-op said: “At the Co-op we are always keen to support local initiatives and we were happy to help KAMPS raise over £350. As usual the generosity of our customers is overwhelming.”

The society meets again on 8th March in Neuadd Gwenllian at 19:15 Anyone interested in getting involved in can attend the meeting.
