Fundraiser for Ty Mair tops £1k for their care of Nana Lil

Sheree Jenkins is raising cash for the Ty Mair care home in gratitude for the amazing care they have provided for her Nana, Lil.

Sheree told us: “Lil has been a resident in Ty Mair for the past 9 years. Every year the care home has got better and better, she’s so happy and content there.

“They treat her and all the other residents like family.

“It’s so lovely for her to be in an amazing care home.

“Nana had mild symptoms for Covid-19 which included a temperature and a little cough on the Monday. On the Thursday she had her results back she tested positive for covid 19

“The dreaded news we all didn’t want to hear as a family.

“She battled and battled and kept strong having oxygen throughout the time and after a long 3 weeks she finally came through it.

“She has no symptoms and has come out of the red zone (isolation part of ty mair) FINALLY!

Her video caught the eye of the BBC, so nana Lil is famous

“When asked how happy she was and how she felt she said, ‘I feel famous’.

“This amazing woman has been my absolute rock over the years and is so loved by myself and my children

“I just can’t wait to see her again, I am raising money on the behalf of Ty Mair care home as they have been absolutely amazing through out all this, not just for my nana but for all the other residents too.

“I can’t thank them all enough and I would give them the world if I could.

Much loved and cherished: Nana Lil

“I really appreciate all they are doing in there. My target first of all was £100 and I actually smashed that in the first day so I gave myself a huge challenge and put it up to £1000 and finally after 11 days I’ve got my target and even more

I’m currently on £1034 now at this moment but now I’ve raised this much I can’t help but want to raise so much more.

“The money is going towards a huge party for the residents and family and friends of the care home and also a memorial garden for the residents they have lost.

“I have made this money by selling bows, doing raffles and also just people giving donations so I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone helping me make this happen.
