Town Centre, health service and crime tops forum’s survey

ON Thursday (Aug 30) Fforwm Llanelli Forum held a promotion stand in the town centre to inform the public of the their activities and to identify priorities for action.

The stand was well attended and the informal and unscientific survey revealed that the following three issues were of most concern to Llanelli residents:

  • the Town Centre
  •  the NHS, and most especially the hospital
  • crime

There was support from two independent Llanelli town councillors, John Evan Jones, Sean Rees and from the Carmarthenshire Liberal Democrats. The Forum was able to provide a platform for raising funds for the Observation and Assessment Unit at Ysgol Y Felin for children with special educational needs.

Llanelli Forum has already planned to hold a debate in the Town Centre on Wednesday (Sep 12) at 7pm at the Selwyn Samuel Centre.

Confirmed participants include town councillors David Darkin, Siôn Davies and John Jenkins.
