Following the revelation that the Hywel Dda Health Board is considering a whole range of options for reconfiguring services, former officers of the Committee for the Improvement of Hospital Services held an informal emergency meeting with MP Nia Griffith to discuss the need to reconvene to be ready to respond to any proposals.
The Committee which was responsible for the previous SOSPPAN campaign will be reaching out to groups across the Llanelli area to ensure that the views of local people are voiced strongly and conveyed to the Hywel Dda Health Board.
Speaking up after the meeting, hospital campaigner Tony Flatley said,
“We will be keeping a very close eye on the Hywel Dda Health Board, and will be examining any proposals that come forward. It would be irresponsible to scare-monger in any way at the moment, but we want to make certain that the people of Llanelli have the best possible hospital services .”
