Fire breaks out at high rise building in Swansea

A fire has broken out at a high rise building in Swansea this evening, Sunday (Mar 17). The building is believed to be an unoccupied student block of accommodation. Photos and videos of the fire began appearing on social media earlier this evening.

In a statement issued a few minutes ago South Wales Police said: “South Wales Police were in attendance with fire brigade colleagues at a fire in Orchard Street, Swansea which started at about 6.45pm tonight.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation and we would ask anyone with information or videos which may assist the investigation to call 101 quoting occurrence 1900095727”
