THE female motorist who died following a road traffic collision involving a single car on the M4 motorway on Sunday has been named as Christine Carpenter, 66, from Coed Hirwaun, Port Talbot.

Christine’s family has released the following tribute: “Her loving family are devastated to lose such a loving, caring person so suddenly.

“Christine will be sorely missed by her loving partner Ged, and two sons Ross and Tom and all her family and friends.”

Christine Carpenter died after the car she was driving, a white Mitsubushi Colt, collided with the central reservation on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 near junction 40.

Officers investigating the collision wish to thank those members of the public to stopped to provide assistance at the time of the collision and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed it or the manner the car was being driven immediately prior to the incident to contact South Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and quote reference 1800325149.
