The legend that is – was Elvis Presley made a surprise appearance at Burry port carnival today, Saturday (Jul 1) and entertained locals with some fancy moves. He told Llanelli Online that he had been on a cruise ship in the Burry Inlet when he was forced to walk the plank. After being rescued in by the RNLI he brushed himself off at performed outside the Portobello public house much to the amazement of one man and his dog. The man who had taken five minutes rest on a local bench said: “I had a bit of a shock. I was expecting Mal from the Portobello to turn up but he must have been unwell. Then this bloke turned up.”
