LLANELLI market has become the first dementia friendly market in the UK after partnering with the Alzheimer’s Society in training staff and making adjustments to shops.
Marcia Vale from the Alzheimer’s Society said that she now hopes Carmarthen market will follow suit. In a special ceremony held at Llanelli’s old vicarage the market traders were presented with certificates for their work by civic dignitaries including the Llanelli Town Mayor Bill Thomas.
