Dyfed-Powys Police are warning people about the dangers of swimming in quarries. Following an appeal to stay away from the quarry at Llandybie earlier this week damage has been caused to a boundary fence.
Dyfed-Powys Police report that sometime between 9am on Monday 31st July and 3pm on Thursday 3rd August damage has been caused to the fence line at Cilyrychen Quarry, Llandybie.
PC Oliver West said:
“An appeal to keep out of the quarry was issued by police earlier this week yet people are still trying to gain access. Quarries are dangerous places, filled with visible and hidden dangers and they are often in hard to reach areas. Cilyrychen Quarry at Llandybie is private property, and is off limits to the public. We and quarry management are conducting regular patrols of the site to keep the public safe.”
Anyone who has information about the damage is asked to contact Ammanford police on 101.
