THE FIRST distribution centre for the Llanelli Food-bank has been opened in Dafen at the Church Hall.
A crowd of volunteers gathered together today, Thursday (Jul 18) to officially open the provision and within minutes of the doors opening people were already using the facility, taking receipt of bags of food.

Claire Childs from Myrtle House and Reverend Sulin Milne coordinated the opening along with local councillor Rob Evans and members of the church.
George Parker of Parker Plant Hire had donated cupboards to hold the food supplies and he had also donated a lunch for the volunteers. Cawdor Cars have donated a van, which will be used to collect donations.

The food-bank opens on Thursdays from 1 til 3pm.
Student Journalist Lucy Fiola caught up with Claire Childs and Reverend Sulin Milne to ask them about the provision.
