IT’S been a busy year for the ladies of Cor Curiad Llanelli, the all female singing group have performed a number of charitable shows, including the Ty Bryngwyn Hospice ‘Festval of Light’.
This week, they have been performing at Stradey Castle with three sold-out shows, raising funds for Marie Curie, a charity that supports people and their families suffering with terminal illness.
The group is made up of all ages, with the oldest being 87 and have been entertaining audiences since 1995. Although mainly Welsh, the choir also has members representing England, Ireland and even Germany.
Speaking to Llanelli Online, the chair of Cor Curiad Andrea Matthews said: ”We have had three nights at the (Stradey) Castle, we then have our Daffodil Ball in February at the Stradey Park Hotel.
We have recently handed a check to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice for £30,000, so if we can get anywhere near that for Marie Curie we will be delighted.”
