THE annual ‘Walk for Maggie’s’ took place on Sunday 14th July, with over 200 participants walking the Millennium Coastal path, starting at Burry Port Harbour and ending in Festival Fields, Llanelli.
Gomer Williams & Company LTD and Structural Surverys Wales partnered up with local charity, Maggie’s Swansea, by sponsoring the walk.
The money raised in this event will be going towards free practical and emotional support for anyone who has been affected by cancer in South and West Wales.
Leanne Jennett, Centre Fundraising Manager from Maggie’s Swansea centre said: “As a local charity Maggie’s Swansea relies solely on donations to continue developing our unique, high quality programme of support, so we would love for everyone from the local community to be involved to make this happen.”
“We are really grateful for Gomer Williams & Company LTD and Structural Surveys Wales support and know that the money raised will go a long way in supporting people with cancer, their family and friends across South & West Wales.”
“As the number of people living with cancer increases it is essential that they are able to find the practical and emotional support they need to cope with the changes that life after cancer brings. Maggie’s Swansea offers a way of living well with cancer.”
“This includes ensuring that people affected by cancer in the region are really listened to, that they are offered tailored individual support, group support and practical advice, all delivered by qualified professional within a space that enables them to meet other people who understand what it means to be living with cancer too.”
