FOLLOWING a weekend of Community Awards received by Burry Port RNLI, Senior Helmsman, Training and Education Officer Gary Morgan and his wife Rachel have been invited Buckingham Palace for a Garden Party in recognition of his 28 years service.
Along with 10 other RNLI long serving volunteers, they were met and escorted by HRH The Duke of Kent, Patron of the RNLI, and attended the function which took place yesterday, Thursday (May 31).
Gary met another helmsman/mechanic from Minehead RNLI, Paul Arnold, and had a chat with HRH the Duke of Kent, who wanted to know about Burry Port and Gary’s length of service.
A spokesperson for Burry Port RLNI said: “Many congratulations from all the Team at Burry Port and we hope both Gary and Rachel enjoyed the experience.”
