Burry Port hosts Bank Holiday bonanza of activity

BURRY Port is not a town short on things to do. There is always something going on in and around the town from rugby, football, fishing, car boot sales, carnivals, fairs , poetry and pints and even silent fireworks.

There are some that take part, some that watch and some that do and some that well, just like to sit in the sun like this pretty pooch.

Cllr Amanda Fox and her husband Lee Fox are very much doers and they have a wide range of colleagues who also rally to the aid of the town in putting on events like Cllr John James and Cllr Penny Edwards.

This Bank Holiday weekend was no exception as the town put on their carnival dance and chose their carnival Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses.

They are:
Carnival Queen – Bethany Francis
Carnival King – Robert Rees
Rose Queen – Isabelle Porah
Rose King – Macullen Morris – Roberts
Fairy Queen – Kelsie Rees
Prince Consort – Llewelyn Gravell – Jones

If that were not enough there was also a very successful fundraiser held in Burry Port on Sunday (May 26). The silent firework campaign raises funds to hold a Silent Firework Display in November.

Cllr Fox said: “A fun afternoon was had by all ,lots of dogs attended the event and even a horse showed support.”
