Burry Port Beat Bont

Burry Port Juniors coach Tony Williams has heralded the performance of his players as ‘magnificent’ as they beat Pontarddulais 3-2 at home today, Saturday (Feb 25). Speaking after the game Tony said: “The players were outstanding today and had most of the ball during the first half. Burry Port had difficulty hitting the target to begin with.”

Pontarddulais scored first sending a ball over the top of the Burry port defence to make it 1-0. By half time Burry Port were two goals down and the game looked to be slipping away from them. Remiel Wharton had other ideas as the sides came out for the second half he got a quick goal to  put Burry Port in with a shout. Wharton played a part in the next Burry Port goal as he chipped the ball towards Cameron Williams who headed it sweetly into the net to make it 2 -2. Burry Port began to put pressure on Bont and it paid off kick off in the last minute of the game when a ball sent in from a corner from Cameron Williams was neatly back heeled into the net by Ajay David. The game ended Burry port 3 – Pontarddulais 2.
