Bigyn blighted by fly tippers

Bigyn blighted by fly tippers

RESIDENTS in Bigyn say they are fed up with illegal the dumping of rubbish in the area. Residents are claiming that despite making complaints to the council about the blight of fly tipping in lanes and on green areas the council has failed to respond adequately.

One resident who did not wish to be named said that they had made numerous calls to the county council complaining about the mess and that no one had bothered to come out and clean it up.

We contacted Carmarthenshire County Council for a comment.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s executive board member for public protection, Cllr Philip Hughes said: “This vicinity is one of our problematic areas for environmental blight and we regularly attend for clearance and cleansing works.

Now that we have been made aware of this latest incident our crews will visit the area and clear it today. I’d like to thank the public for drawing our attention to this as they play a vital part being the eyes and ears of our community. If anyone has any information regarding fly tipping in any area then please report it to us online or by calling 01267 2234567.”
