AUDITORS will publish a report about Carmarthenshire Council’s planning department early next month.
The Audit Wales report, according to opposition leader Cllr Rob James, is thought to be very critical of the department, which has seen personnel changes at the top.
Cllr James asked council leader Emlyn Dole about the report – and another one commissioned by the council – at an executive board meeting on July 26.
The Labour group leader said: “It is believed that the reports are highly critical of the performance of the department.
“Can the leader of Council outline when the findings of these reports will be published?”
Cllr Dole said the Audit Wales review of the planning department in 2019-20 was a routine report.
The Plaid leader said the findings have been shared with the planning department and would be discussed by the council’s governance and audit committee on September 24. He added that the report would be published on Audit Wales’s website nearly next month.
Cllr Dole also said the council had commissioned its own review of the planning department in 2019.
Audit Wales said its report was due to be published on its website on August 11.
